Some people just keep putting their foot in it! Foot in what? I hear you say!
Foot in cold leather, unhealthy plastic, or just some device to allow them to walk about without cutting their feet.
So isn’t there something better to line your shoes with than to allow your skin to come into contact with a vinyl or plastic surface?
Is There a Cure for Cold Feet?
Oh, these cold shoes and sandals are fine if you live where I live. In a sub tropical environment where the temperature rarely goes below around 20 degrees Celsius or about 60 degree Fahrenheit. [so you Americans can understand what I'm saying]
But what if you live in an area which is really freezing, as probably half the worlds population experiences. You really need sheepskin lined boots, and that is the subject we are about to discuss.
The first time I came in contact with a pair of slippers that had some sort of lining was when I was travelling in the snowy mountains area of southern NSW, Australia. We don’t have much snow in Australia. Most of the continent is pretty warm, particularly up north. But I had the fortune or misfortune; however you would like to interpret it, to find myself up to my ears in snow. Now, I had experienced a bit of wet and cold weather in Margaret River, Western Australia where I grew up, but I had never really experienced what it was like to get cold feet until now.
My feet, along with the rest of my body, were absolutely freezing, and it wasn’t helped by the fact that in that era [the sixties] very few Australian homes had heating. Not even a radiator. Being a volunteer working back in those years, I didn’t have any excess funds to buy expensive footwear and some kindly friend took it upon himself to buy me a pair of fur lined slippers.
Cold Feet No More
So that was my introduction to the idea of lining shoes with fur. Mind you, these slippers didn’t have real fur. It was synthetic. But is sure felt a lot better than just slipping my feet into cold leather, and I really appreciated whatever lining was there, as long as it provided some sort of insulation.
Where then, did the idea of lining shoes with sheepskin come from? Well, I guess the practice is nearly as old as the human race itself but it seems that in our modern society the practice became forgotten and footwear styles were forced into a groove that bent them in the direction of fashion rather than comfort.
Sheepskin Lined Boots
The expression ‘sheepskin lined boots’ does not accurately describe what is being promoted on this site, because the expression implies that something has been removed from the sheepskin and attached to your shoes, when in actual fact the quality described here is far superior.
What we are talking about when we speak of sheepskin lined boots, is really that the boot itself is made of sheepskin, or more accurately, sheep leather. The amazing spring like fibres of the original sheep hide is left intact so that your sheepskin boot or shoe is actually made of the hide itself, giving it all the long lasting and health benefits of the original item.
So, your search for sheepskin lined boots has led you to a superior quality item that is called in many parts of the world UGG BOOTS. Click here for an extensive description of this popular footwear.
Chrome Tanned Sheep Leather
Your research at this site will show that the lining of these luxurious boots, being of natural chrome tanned sheep leather, will give you a feeling of such warmth that you will wonder how you did without them till now. Not only does the tanning process of these skins provide you with the flexibility to walk in comfort but if at any time you get them wet, they will not fall to pieces as technically (although not recommended) you can put them in water.
So, go ahead. Put your foot in it!! Get yourself a pair of, not just sheepskin lined boots, but genuine chromed tanned leather uggs.
